Day 1:ARRIVAL INTO HANOI NOI BAI AIRPORT

Meet you outside of the arrivals hall and private transfer to Hanoi city, which takes around 45 minutes.

After your hotel check-in, you may wish to take a late afternoon or evening stroll of 2.5km around Hoan Kiem Lake. The lake is considered the center of Hanoi, not only physically but also symbolically. Peaceful and quiet, the lake surrounds Ngoc Son Temple, a pagoda sitting in the centre on a small island.

Hoan Kiem means “Lake of the Returned Sword”. The legend was that a famous and victorious king who drove out the Ming army lost his sword when a turtle came up and took it when he was on a boat in the lake. The legends also say that he originally received his magical sword from the turtle god of the area.

From early morning exercise, to courting couples at night, Hoan Kiem Lake is a pleasure to visit at any time

Day 2:ESSENTIAL HANOI 

This day will take in the highlight sites and sights including: Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, Fine Art Museum, Streets of the Old Quarter, One-pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature.

While there’s no shortage of splendid street food sellers in Hanoi, but some of the best are only known to locals. You’ll also have lunch on the streets, enjoying local food the way Hanoians do.  Our private tour will take you for a walk around the streets and alleys of the capital, to sample some of our favorite Hanoian cuisine while experiencing our culture, people and language, close-up. 

Take your seats for the Water Puppet Show at Thang Long Theatre.

This is a flexible full day of touring and you can discuss specific sites / sights and locations with your guide, depending on your own personal interests and pace.

Day 3:HANOI'S CRAFT HERITAGES THROUGH THE LENS

Spend a full day exploring Hanoi’s vibrant craft villages on a unique photo tour led by a professional photographer from Vietnam in Focus. Depart early from the city and head to the famous Quang Phu Cau incense village, where thousands of scarlet incense sticks are arranged in dazzling displays – a true feast for the eyes and the lens. Learn how to capture the best compositions and interact with local artisans as they prepare incense for markets across Vietnam.

Continue to other traditional villages such as a vermicelli-making village and Da Sy blacksmith village, where you’ll witness the rhythmic hammering of hot iron and the artistry of local craftsmen. Each stop provides a window into Vietnam’s living traditions and countless opportunities for striking, authentic photographs.

Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon with a stunning portfolio of images and unforgettable memories from Vietnam’s craft heritage.

Day 4:HANOI TO HALONG BAY

Your private vehicle and driver will meet you at your hotel and drive you to your Halong Bay Cruise. 

This pleasant journey through the Red River Delta takes around 2.5 hours, with a refreshment stop along the way.

Day 5:HALONG BAY - HANOI FLY TO HUE AND UNIQUE DINNER

After you disembark your cruise, your private transportation will be waiting for you to direct to Hanoi Noi Bai Airport for your onward flight to Hue City.

This evening, take the opportunity to rub shoulders with royalty with a visit to the residence of Pham Ba Vinh and his wife, Ton Nu Cam Tu. Mr Vinh is of royal heritage and during your visit to the delightful Garden House, he will undoubtedly regale you with a few stories of his ancestral roots. The Garden House offers an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy traditional Vietnamese hospitality in the surrounds of a fully-working and functioning replica of a 19th century Hue residence. The house itself is set in charming gardens, complete with lotus ponds and pavilions. As the sun sets, enjoy an exceptional Vietnamese dinner either within the house or, if the weather is fair, in the gardens.

Day 6:THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF HUE

We begin with a discovery of Minh Mang Tomb, which is 12km from Hue, on the west bank of the Perfume River. Begun in 1840, construction was not complete when Minh Mang died. His successor, Emperor Thieu Tri continued this task according to his father’s plans.

Returning to the city, we’ll visit the private gallery and workshop of Mr Do Huu Triet to discover the ancient art of Phap Lam, an art-form that uses ceramic enamel to cover laminated copper.

Enter the ancient Hue Citadel and the Forbidden City. The citadel palace complex is located on the North bank of Huong River (Perfume River), inside Hue city. Even though suffering extensive damage from the war, it is still a very impressive site.

Day 7:A DAY OF HUE COOKING CLASS AND CRAFTS

Discover the cultural heart of Hue through a full-day journey that blends refined vegetarian cuisine with traditional craft villages. 

Begin with a storytelling session at the Nguyen Family Ancestral House, then stroll through the serene art garden of An Nhien. Join a hands-on cooking class to prepare Hue specialties like An Nhien Spring Rolls and Fig Salad, followed by a wholesome vegetarian feast featuring local delicacies. Each dish reflects the city’s harmony of flavors and rich culinary heritage.

In the afternoon, explore Hue’s iconic craft villages. At Sinh Village, discover the ancient art of folk woodblock painting, while Thanh Tien Village invites you to create colorful paper flowers alongside local artisans. These immersive encounters allow you to craft your own keepsake while supporting the preservation of Hue’s cultural heritage.

By the end of the day, you will not only savor authentic Hue cuisine but also carry home the beauty of its crafts, traditions, and living heritage.

Day 8:BREATHTAKING VIEWS

Following National Highway 1 south to Hoi An is around 4 hours drive. We’ll stop at Lang Co Beach,followed by a scenic drive over the stunning Hai Van Mountain Pass. This is the highest pass in Vietnam (500m above sea level).

The rugged pass is the final section of the Truong Son Range stretching to the sea.Hai Van is translated “Sea Clouds”, since the peak of the mountain is in the clouds while its foot is close to the sea.

Decending into Da Nang City and Beach, we’ll make stops along the way for photos and refreshments as required, visiting the Cham Museum. This fine, small museum has the world’s largest collection of Cham artefacts, housed in buildings marrying French-colonial architecture with Cham elements. Founded in 1915 by the Ecole Francaise d’Extreme Orient, it displays more than 300 pieces including altars, lingas, garudas, apsaras, Ganeshes and images of Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu, all dating from the 5th to 15th centuries.

Then we continue to the most charming and unspoiled Hoi An Old Town.

Day 9: IN AND ARROUND HOI AN WITH WOOD CARVING WORKSHOP

Begin with a few km cycle ride (or by traditional cyclo) around country lanes to Tra Que village. The locals here cultivate and grow many kinds of herbs. Enjoy a herbal foot massage and a short and fun – but instructive cooking with herbs class. Enjoy lunch here.

An experience unlike anything else, you are invited to pick up a chisel and carve your own inspired, meaningful work of art. Working closely with our local craftsmen, you will create a unique work of art to take home with you as a treasured memory of your time in Hoi An. Learn the ancient techniques and basic skills in our introduction to woodworking. Explore our collection for inspiration. Meet and work hand-in-hand with a local artisan. Joining our Woodworking experience, you can expect a unique and creative few hours interacting and working hands on with the talented sculptors and artists of the famous driftwood carpentry village as you sculpt your own work of art. It is truly an unforgettable memory and sure to be a highlight of your visit to Hoi An.

Day 10:HOI AN WALKING TOUR

This morning, you will be free at your leisure at hotel.

In the afternoon, we will visit Hoi An Ancient Town – ideal for a couple hours walking tour to understand the historical and commercial development of this former 16th century trading port.

Today, this UNESCO World Heritage listed ancient town is home to well-preserved buildings, pedestrianized streets, a quaint riverside and unique cuisines. The narrow lanes are ideal for aa approximate 3 hours walking tour to give you a glimpse of an ancient town with its illustrious past.

You will visit the Japanese Bridge, the Assembly Hall of Chinese, an old merchant’s house – Tan Ky and have a visit to the colorful local market.

In the evening you will enjoy a special show in Hoian. “Hoi An Memories” Show – The heroic and romantic memories of Hoi An.

“Hoi An Memories” show is a outdoor art performance with the participation of over 500 dancers and actors, various props, captivating stage effects, eye-catching choreography, modern sound and lighting, all in one on a 25,000 square metres stage.

Day 11:FREE & EASY THEN FLY TO SAIGON AND STREET FOOD

This morning, you will free & easy until our guide and driver will pick up and transfer to the airport for your forward flight to Saigon (HCMC) , flight to be determined.

Saigon after dark – Part night excursion, part street local food adventures, you’ll experience the nightlife of Saigon the way locals do! You’ll ride safely as pillion behind experienced drivers to enjoy and experience the most authentic Vietnamese night life in this energetic city.

Day 12:SAIGON NOW AND THEN - A O SHOW

What’s in a name? Following the fall of Saigon on 30th April 1975, Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City. However the old Saigon name is still often used by both Vietnamese and visitors, especially when referring to the most central part of the city, District 1. This energetic city of some 11 million people (seemingly all on motor scooters together) is the backdrop for exploring the more modern history and stories it’s enduring people. There are amazing markets, stunning architecture, wartime sites and so much more that you’ll discover.

In the evening, enjoy the famous A O Show at Saigon Opera House – a vibrant performance combining bamboo circus, acrobatics, dance, and live folk music. The show beautifully portrays the contrast between Vietnam’s peaceful countryside and its bustling city life, offering an unforgettable cultural experience.

Day 13:MEKONG DELTA AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE BY SPEEDBOAT

Escape the bustle of Saigon on a scenic speedboat journey into the heart of the Mekong Delta. Along the waterways, capture stunning views of lush orchards, rice paddies, and vibrant riverside markets. Visit a Cao Dai temple, a Buddhist pagoda, and meet local families to learn about their traditions while enjoying fresh coconuts and Mekong whisky. A highlight of the day is a traditional lunch at a local home, featuring the region’s signature fried elephant ear fish and other specialties. This immersive tour offers a perfect blend of culture, scenery, and authentic river life, giving you a true taste of Vietnam’s Mekong heritage.

Day 14: FREE & EASY with SPA TREATMENT and DINNER CRUISE

relaxed day to recharge in Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy free time at your own pace, unwind with a soothing spa treatment in the afternoon, then cap off the evening with a scenic dinner cruise on the Saigon River featuring live music and city lights.

Day 15:DEPARTURE
